5 Good Reasons to earn an M.A. in English

Below are a few pieces of additional information about the M.A. Program.

Classes are usually limited:

  • There are a limited number of classes and you may not get what you want on your registration date.

  • Keep track of important dates

    • When does the wait-list open?

      • This opens up classes which may have been closed on your registration date.

      • Students sometimes over enroll in classes and drop some depending on what opens up. 

      • Ask other students what they are enrolled in so you may be able to pick up a class they are going to drop.

    • ​Tution due date.

      • Classes open up on the day tution is due.

Graduate Funding Sources

Schedule of Classes:

  • Graduate level classes usually start at 4pm and only meets once a week.

 

Core Classes:

  • Taking them at the start of your grad career is recommended but not required.

  • 601 (Bibliography) & 638 (Critical Theory) are excellent classes to start with.
